Rally GOOOD!!

When the Warthog announced yesterday morning that the puppet mafia will use the force to crackdown the anti-government rally, my hubby and I decided it was time for us to pack our bag and join the crowd. Bearing in mind the barbaric nature of the father-whose-son-killed-the-police-and-reinstalled-into-the-policeforce and other loyal slaves of the Square, we packed a big bottle of water, one big/one small umbrellas, one hat, one long and heavy monopod, a VDO camera, one still camera, one big cotton shirt and two swimming goggles.

The trip there was OK. Our taxi was an anti-protestor but not harsh and he pulled us over right at the protest area where the ‘yellow-shirt-people’ huddled. There, we briefly lived in the real Thai society when strangers were friendly and ready to help one another. We were sitting in the middle of the road when a guy handed us a big piece of paper to cover the hot surface. My hubby was filming when another guy gave him a small Thai flag to tuck into his VDO camera!!

People also gathered for a bit of arts by groups of various artists voicing their comments and concerns over our country, and there the “Dharma Troop’ who set up tents preparing vegetarian food for all of us. And this does not include the donated food boxes, snacks, and waters from supporters countrywide.

A delicious protest, that is!! Here is the vegetarian ‘jab chai’ soup on rice…

Here is the dessert – pickled santols

We walked around and around and saw more food. Here’s a ‘guay-chap’ (pork/rice noodle soup) right in front of the stage, amidst the tight crowd…

And then, we couldn’t resist the aroma of the famous grilled chicken at Likhit Gai Yang (dubbed as ‘Gai Yang Sanam Muay’ for its proximity to Ratchadamnoen Boxing Station). Here’s their famous grilled chicken. The place is packed with the protesters who took their yellow batches off during the meal.

The place has been around for 51 years now.. and still very delicious despite the crowd. The owner says the rally brings in may be 4-5 times the customers. They were so busy and ran out of utensils that we had to share a glass!!:-) Likit Gai Yang, T: 02-281-1094, 02-281-3502, offers a nice air-con room with a 14-inch TV broadcasting NBT channel when the Outcast slapped the Warthog’s face with announcement that there would be no crackdown!! Proofing that the Warthog is a true invalid in all areas.

I hope we could live in the nice/friendly atmosphere of the Thai society longer.. I mean it is a really great feeling when strangers are friendly to each other. Life is so good and rich there.. and you do not have to have a lot of money to have that nourishing feeling!!

Wow, your Likit Gai Yang made me drool.....

This was my favorite place when living in Bangkok. It is on my dining list when returning home in couple years. You have to get soda num dang or soda num keao along with all fixings.

My dad used to be a professional boxer so I had eaten at this place since I was little.

BTW, Kudo to your book release...as well
